Therapeutic Exercise
Therapeutic exercise is a fundamental basis for functional rehabilitation work in which the rider plays an active part. It consists of the programming of specific exercises on the lunging and ridden work with a therapeutic goal.

Is its effectiveness scientifically proven?
Yes, there are several studies that demonstrate the positive effects of certain exercises (circles, lateral work, poles, cavalettis) on muscle activation and strengthening, as well as on the quality of the stride and the size of spine stabilizer muscles (Clayton, 2016) (de Oliveira et al., 2015).
Therapeutic exercise combined with other techniques stimulates specific areas such as the abdominal, spinal and pelvic stabilising musculature, which are key to improving the horse's balance, relaxation and posture, as well as proprioception and range of joint mobility.
